On September 27th, 2021 the Cisco City Council voted 5-0 with one abstention in a first reading vote to outlaw abortion within their city limits.
On October 12th, 2021 the Cisco City Council had their second reading vote to outlaw abortion within their city limits. The vote was 5-0 with one abstention. In doing so the City of Cisco became the fortieth city in the nation, and the thirty-seventh city in Texas, to pass an enforceable ordinance outlawing abortion within their city limits.
The ordinance contains a limited abortion trafficking provision which prohibits abortion trafficking of residents of their community.

While the Slaton Ordinance was first introduced and discussed before the Slaton City Commission on Monday, July 12, 2021 the ordinance did not have its first reading until Monday, November 15, 2021. The first reading vote of the Slaton City Commission was 4-1.
At the next meeting, on December 13th, the Slaton City Commission passed the ordinance in a second and final reading with a 5-0 vote. In doing so the City of Slaton became the forty-third city in the nation, and the thirty-ninth city in Texas, to pass an enforceable ordinance outlawing abortion within their city limits.

The results of the citywide vote were 58% FOR the passage of the ordinance and 42% AGAINST the passage of the ordinance - a difference of 16 points.
