First Pitch / Vote
November 17th, 2020
This petition is a petition started by Senator Charles Perry out of Lubbock, Texas.
The petition reads, "Planned Parenthood, the nation's largest abortion provider, is hiring staff for a Lubbock location. Two years ago, they made their plans known to re-enter West Texas and they have made good on that promise. We need to stand strong and send a clear message that the abortion industry should not set up shop in our backyard. Unborn children should have the right to live and Planned Parenthood profits off ending their lives. This is unacceptable. By signing your name below, you’re registering your opposition to Planned Parenthood’s efforts to open in Lubbock. Every signature creates more momentum. You’re welcome to circulate this petition with family and friends."

“It is murder!!!” - Irene G.
“It is murder of the most helpless in society. It is unfathomable that any sane or decent person can tolerate or promote it.” - Jon C.
“I had 8 miscarriages before I was blessed with my two babies. Of course now, having two children, I can see and understand that parenthood is not a picnic and not for everyone. But there are so many families that are living through what I went through so many years ago. To a person seeking an abortion: You may have been raped. You may have had a one night stand at a frat party. Your parents may turn their backs on you. You may have a thousand reasons written down to validate your reason for terminating your unborn child. BUT God has a plan for you, plans to prosper you and not to harm you. He would never leave or forsake you. You are in this season for a reason; whether it’s to make a couples dreams come true by giving your child to them to start the family they have always wanted or to save you from a toxic relationship or lifestyle you are currently tolerating because you feel that’s all you’re “good enough” for. The life you are carrying is not a mistake. This moment is no mistake. Take a deep breath. Find a support system if you don’t already have one (I highly recommend starting at Embrace Grace). Pray hard for guidance, direction and wisdom. You’ve got this. Just never forget: God does not make mistakes and He has amazing plans for you and that precious life inside of you!” - Brittany G.

“I want to see abortion outlawed in Lubbock because it is murder of a human life. Abortion, statistically, is done out of selfish convenience and was founded as a racist institution to target black populations. The abortion clinics are corrupt and sell the parts of the baby. “I believe in the sanctity of life from conception to natural death. Mayor Pope, please do not let your legacy as Mayor of Lubbock be the re-entry of Planned Parenthood into Lubbock so that they can resume the slaughter of the unborn children in our city. Put this ordinance before the city council at once.” - Jennifer E.
“The state should not dictate the worth of a human life now. Legality does not determine worth today anymore than it determined worth before the civil rights movement. All life is sacred and should be treated as such.” - Eben E.
“All children deserve the right to live, whether “wanted” or not. To make something of the life they were given by God. If you don’t want a child then don’t do the one act that is required to procreate. As low as the odds are with Store bought preventatives they are never zero.” - Blake F.
“I believe nothing is more important than protecting innocent life.” - Tom L.

“I believe in the sanctity of life.” - Ann S.
“Abortion is Baby Killings. Baby Killings are illegal and not human. Assume these clients seek your advice on Abortions: A preacher and his wife live in abject poverty. They have fourteen children. She is pregnant with number fifteen. Considering the quality of life for both the parents and the unborn child, would you direct that she abort? If you counseled aborting this child, you would have murdered Beethoven before he wrote his first note. It's the year 1955, a lady is pregnant with a baby out of wedlock, her family would disown her and so will her community, Should she abort? You would have killed Steve Jobs, the founder of Apple, and nobody would have an Iphone. Already a mother of four, a woman becomes pregnant in the Philippines while she and her husband are there as missionaries. She suffered a life-threatening infection and her doctor expected a stillbirth. He told her the fetus was actually a tumor. Would you recommend abortion? You would have killed Heisman Trophy winner Tim Tebow. A teenage girl comes to you who is pregnant. She is engaged to be married, but her fiancé is not the father of her baby. She has just told her fiancé, and he is very upset. Would you recommend an abortion in this case? You would have killed Jesus of Nazareth.” - Lawrence D.

“Because it is the intentional murder of an unborn human being.” - Katherine C.
“I work at a local pregnant center here in town and so many are killing their unborn babies all in the name of "choice," It is heart breaking. We have to stop this unjust freedom. We have received word that Planned Parenthood is trying to come back to our city and we have to block them and not allow them back into our city for the sake of the unborn.” - Marissa H.
“It is wrong.” - Wally W.
“I have always been pro-life, but last year abortion hit my family and me on a personal, spiritual, and emotional level. My husband and I started the process to adopt. We have been trying to grow our family for several years with multiple miscarriages. That adoption ended in abortion. The young lady was talked into having an abortion by her boyfriend. It was heart wrenching knowing that this baby was going to have a beautiful home, family, and life raised with Biblical values. And just like that, his life was taken from him. He had NO CHOICE in the matter, to choose death or life with love in a family who WANTED him. This has to STOP being so easily accessible for young ladies. It needs to stop! These babies need a voice, and that's ours! Babies lives matter, period!” - Crystal A.
“To protect our unborn.” - Alexandria S.
“I don't agree with the approach used to conceal abortions from parents and the father. I feel abortion is used as a form of birth control. I don't agree with my taxes being used for such a service because it is murder. I feel we are not advocating for the unborn child, all life is precious and should be protected.” - Imelda T.
“I want to see abortion outlawed in Lubbock, Texas because all lives do matter including the unborn. The bible says thou shall not kill and I do believe to abort a child is to kill a child. And it not only affects the child, but it affects the mother of that child the rest of their lives. I have to look at my daughter, who regrets having an abortion to try and save her marriage, it didn't work and she's divorced wishing she had kept her child.” - Joyce W.
