Abernathy, Texas

Abernathy, Texas is located in Hale and Lubbock Counties. 


An overwhelming majority of those who vote in Hale County are conservative Republican voters. During Hale County’s 2020 Presidential Election 74.9% (7,177) voted Republican, 23.8% (2,279) voted Democrat, and 1.4% (130) voted for other candidates. In the 2016 Presidential Election 71.9% (6,366) voted Republican, 23.7 (2,101) voted Democrat, and 4.4% (391) voted for other candidates. During the 2018 Republican Party Primary, voters had the opportunity to vote on proposition #7. This proposition gave voters the chance to voice

their opinion if they were "In Favor" or "Against" this following statement: " I believe abortion should be abolished in Texas." In Hale County, out of 3,177 votes, 2,493 voted in favor of the idea of abolishing abortion in the state of Texas and 684 voted against the idea of abolishing abortion in the state of Texas. A small part of Abernathy is in Lubbock County. The majority of Lubbock County voters are conservative Republican voters.


During Lubbock County's 2020 Presidential Election 65.3% (78,861) voted Republican, 33.1% (40,017) voted Democrat, and 1.6% (1,939) voted for other candidates. In the 2016 Presidential Election 66.3% (65,651) voted Republican, 28.3% (28,023) voted Democrat, and 5.4% (5,339) voted for other candidates. During the 2018 Republican Party Primary, voters had the opportunity to vote on proposition #7. This proposition gave voters the chance to voice their opinion if they were "In Favor" or "Against" this following statement: " I believe

abortion should be abolished in Texas." In Lubbock County, out of 21,466 votes, 15,480 voted in favor of the idea of abolishing abortion in the state of Texas and 5,986 voted against the idea of abolishing abortion in the state of Texas.


In addition to the consideration of these numbers it is also worthy to consider that one of the official planks of the Republican Party of Texas 2020 Platform reads, “We support the right of Texas municipalities to protect mothers and preborn children in their communities by passing enforceable city ordinances that ban abortions and abortion industry businesses within their city limits.” 92.3% of Republican Party of Texas delegates voted in favor of this plank being added to the Republican Party of Texas 2020 Party Platform.


The population of Abernathy is 3,005.
