De Leon, Texas is located in Comanche County.
An overwhelming majority of those who vote in Comanche County are conservative Republican voters. During Comanche County's 2020 Presidential Election 85.1% (5,177) voted Republican, 14.0% (853) voted Democrat, and 0.9% (56) voted for other candidates. During Comanche County's 2016 Presidential Election 82.7% (4.333) voted Republican, 15.1% (789) voted Democrat, and 2.2% (115) voted for other candidates.
During the 2018 Republican Party Primary, voters had the opportunity to vote on proposition #7. This proposition gave voters the chance to voice their opinion if they were "In Favor" or "Against" this following statement: " I believe abortion should be abolished in Texas." In Comanche County, out of 2,314 votes, 1,565 voted in favor of the idea of abolishing abortion in the state of Texas and 749 voted against the idea of abolishing abortion in the state of Texas. This means a majority of the majority of those who vote in Comanche County are in favor of outlawing abortion in the State of Texas.
In addition to this, one of the official planks of the Republican Party of Texas 2020 Platform reads, “We support the right of Texas municipalities to protect mothers and preborn children in their communities by passing enforceable city ordinances that ban abortions and abortion industry businesses within their city limits.” 92.3% of Republican Party of Texas delegates voted in favor of this plank being added to the Republican Party of Texas 2020 Party Platform.
